Documentation in Software Testing
One of the experiments which always were done by testers is nothing but preparing Test Templates. The IEEE standard has defined a set of documents types which can be customized also. They are divided as • Design Documents – This identifies the test conditions from the requirements and functional design documentation. •Test Plan – This explains how we are going to deliver the testing and also includes many features like the Scope, Features to be tested / Not to be Tested, Risks and Contingencies etc... • Test Case - This converts the requirements into Test cases which includes the scenarios, valid/invalid data, Expected results • Test Metrics - Which reveals details in numbers includes how many test cases are created/executed and how many defects found and fixed • Test Summary Report - This report is prepared at the end of the project to give overall view of what happened in the project. • Audit Reports – Every project should undergo Audit Trail to make sure that they deliver quality product. • Research Report – Any unusual or unexpected behaviors to be investigated These are the general document to be prepared for all the Testing projects and ofcourse we at Hitasoft follows these process , but apart from this many Organizations are customizing these documents based on their needs and based on their Client’s expectations To know more about our Testing Deliverables contact Hitasoft.com

Testing Web Application from a user’s Standpoint
When I login to application I enter weird values. For instance, instead of entering numeric values I may enter alphanumeric or special characters. As a tester it will be amazing for me, how many times I enter such values and tried to break the application. If some values a left alone without entering any values I may enter values in those fields and see what happens. Once the developers have completed their Unit tests, I do review their work for two reasons. • To verify if there is any obvious defects and that can be fixed before the client looks in to it. • I have to talk to the client intelligently how the developed application works. There are numerous ways to test the application. Always test as many combinations of the unexpected as possible. You need to make sure that there is no combination of incorrect data that ends up with the client getting any kind of unexpected messages and make sure the final product meets the requirement.

Necessity of Creating a Software Testing Lab for your Project
Once the project development is done, you may be sure that the Application is a bug free product .But there could be other issues like, • You have developed the product as per client’s requirement, but the same product can be used in different environment. The Client may use different hardware or upgrade his systems later. •Your server may works faster when compared to clients or even vice versa. Hence before the Application is delivered to the client we have to make sure it is tested in different environments and should not slow down even if he uses a different server with heavy load. To test such features every organization should have a testing lab with multiple operation system and different set of hardware equipments .It may cost you more in the initial setup, but will gain your firm thousands of dollars when the client started using the product. The other important thing in every testing the organization will learn few things. If we document those learning then we can avoid doing repeated testing and can help you trace the problem in the forth coming projects. Magic formula for successful Testing
Practical Approach: Many developers think that Software testing is all about finding defects, but not only finding defects it also involves better understanding of the specific Domain and the clients requirements. The developers think that which ever module they create is always working on the right track. But Testers gain more thorough understanding of the application they are testing and learn applies techniques to find causes of defects. When the developers give the application for testing, deploy the code and make the developers sit with you for few minutes. Then they will say “oh what are you doing with my application!”, soon later they will come to know the defects and tries to understand that the testers way is totally different from theirs. The developers weren’t the only ones learning something new. I tend to focus on the user’s perspective, while developers tend to focus on what the program tells them about. As they shared their knowledge of the underlying code, I learned what areas of the product might contain weaknesses and gained application- specific knowledge that helped me track down problems more effectively and log a defect. In Hitasoft we follow the Mutual learning approach. Hence finally both the testers and the developers will gain more knowledge about the requirement to deliver a quality product. Announcement of Ripe Web FLV Player 1.2 ver release

Thanking you all for your great support for Ripe FLV Player. We are happy to announce that we have launched the next version updates with more bug fixes.
We have also launched our new plug-in (video ads plug-in) which brings you flv video advertisement as pre-roll and post-rolls.
What’s new in 1.2?
1. Version 1.2 gives you more option in the pre-roll and post-roll advertisements. Now you can show the image alone or the text alone in the pre-roll and post-roll html ads. You can also move the picture position (left or right) in the advertisement.
2. Version 1.2 lets you to install our new video ads plug-in. Video ads plug-in allow you to play flv videos as pre-roll and post-rolls. You can also link the video ads to their relevant websites.

Xmoov and Lighttpd Streaming with Ripe Player

Finally we have added the new feature of Xmoov streaming and lighttpd streaming with Hitasoft’s Ripe FLV Player 1.0.
Why PHP Streaming?
You can ’stream’ FLVs or you can use ‘progressive download’. Not many of us use ’streaming’ because you need a streaming media server software for this, like Macromedia Flash Communication Server or Flash Media Server, and this has a considerable cost.
You have two obvious advantages with streaming: you can seek to an arbitrary time in the video (still you land on a key frame, I think) and the file is not cached (and eats your bandwidth every time, but I can see how this is considered an advantage).
All Flash Media Servers are not open source and its need more time for installation. Now it’s possible to stream a FLV using a simple PHP script and FLVMDI injected data.
