Magic formula for successful Testing
Practical Approach: Many developers think that Software testing is all about finding defects, but not only finding defects it also involves better understanding of the specific Domain and the clients requirements. The developers think that which ever module they create is always working on the right track. But Testers gain more thorough understanding of the application they are testing and learn applies techniques to find causes of defects. When the developers give the application for testing, deploy the code and make the developers sit with you for few minutes. Then they will say “oh what are you doing with my application!”, soon later they will come to know the defects and tries to understand that the testers way is totally different from theirs. The developers weren’t the only ones learning something new. I tend to focus on the user’s perspective, while developers tend to focus on what the program tells them about. As they shared their knowledge of the underlying code, I learned what areas of the product might contain weaknesses and gained application- specific knowledge that helped me track down problems more effectively and log a defect.
